Wow Factor: Planning a vacation? One of 2012's biggest travel trends is taking a cruise. Now that cruise liners are adding amenities like custom-made beds and waterfall showers in bigger cabins, wine and cheese bars, cooking schools, artist's lofts and water parks onboard, sophisticated cruisers have a variety of entertainment options.

Of seven luxury cruise liners that will debut on the high seas this year, look for the Oceania Riveria (Monaco), MSC Divina (France) and Disney Fantasy (USA).

Ouch Factor: 'Off the beaten track' has been a travel trend for the last year (and more) so that everyone is talking about the beaches in Brazil, the fantastic parties in Beirut (see pic) and Lebanon and even glamping (that's glamorous, luxurious camping) in places like Africa or even Mongolia .

Off beat, experiential vacations have become the norm with the jet set. So if everyone is doing it, isn't it time to move on?
