Store Review: Furla

What's hot:

The bright perky colours, the feminine designs and the acid yellow PE0 bag.

What's not:

We wish the store was bigger; six or seven customers in the store can cause a traffic jam.

Luxpresso verdict:

Furla will add (pop) colour to your wardrobe.

Furla store mumbai

A couple of months ago, we told you that the Italian lifestyle brand Furla was coming to India. Well, Furla's first store has finally opened in Mumbai.

The brand's brightly-lit store at the Palladium is spread over 532 sqft and draws inspiration from the architectural details of Furla's headquarters located in an 18th century villa in Bologna. So expect the contemporary mixed with the traditional in the architraves of the doors, and frames of the windows.

Furla was founded in Bologna in 1927 Aldo and his wife Margherita and is still owned by the Furlanetto family. Right now, the Mumbai store is showcasing the full range of Furla's bright, pop-coloured Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Look out for Furla's IT bags - the Papermoon, the Furla & I tote and fun Candy bag - in yellow, orange, purple, green and red.  The brand's lines are known for their clean lines and geometric cuts. Each Furla bag also comes with a customised Furla lock that can be used as a "safety lock" for the zipper pull.

We had our eye on a gorgeous acid yellow calf skin PE0 bag that comes with lizard print detailing (Rs 36,913) and a white rubber Candy bag (price on request) with black handles and a fur trim. Also look out for their tinsel-flecked mini bags, which will add sparkle to a grey, rainy day.

The Palladium store also stocks a range of Furla's wallets, belts, scarves and some very dainty-looking ballet shoes and slip-ons embellished with bows.

Furla already has stores in 63 countries, including USA, France, Japan, Honk Kong and Korea.
