Saris for the Contemporary Woman
This year the sari has undergone many a transformation on the ramp; enough to give the original nine-yards an absolute culture shock. Rules previously held sacred have been bent backwards, the structure of the blouse altered and traditional prints replaced by their graphic counterparts. While some have displayed a juxtaposition of materials, other have appeared in the company of trousers. Here’s a look at some of the contemporary expressions of the sari that made us swoon.
