Party People: A Royal Affair at Rambagh Palace
It's not like the Taj's Rambagh Palace in Jaipur needed any further endorsements, but a tribute certainly was in the offing. Authored by Dharmendar Kanwar and illustrated by Bharath Ramamrutham, a coffee table book surfaces at the hands of Maharaja Jai Singh and Raymond Bickson, MD and CEO, Indian Hotels Company.
Celebrating the documented history of this 177-year old iconic structure were India's jet set; think royalty in the form of Rani Vidya Devi and Rajkumar Vijit Singh, the Bollywood brigade with Simone Singh, Madhoo Shah, Riya and Raima Sen, and of course the ever glamorous ladies like Nisha Jamvwal, Queenie Singh and Rashmi Uday Singh.
The showstopper, however, remained designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s limited edition collection of saris, all inspired by the effervescent style of late Rajmata Gayatri Devi of Jaipur.
