Hotels in Rio de Janeiro Are World's Most Expensive
Rio de Janeiro: The largest price jump, by more than 48 per cent, was in Rio de Janeiro according to the HRS study. Due to beefed up infrastructure and preparations for the upcoming Football World Cup in 2014, the rates for hotel accommodation at the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain have been moving upward. Also, this year's carnival attracted more tourists to the city increasing hotel tariff.
Apparently, we hear that the European Parliament has cut the number of delegates it will send to the UN's landmark sustainability conference in Rio next month thanks to spiralling costs.
