Most expensive bottle of cognac sold at auction
A 153-year-old Cuvée Léonie sold for a world-record price of 1 million RMB (US$156,740) at auction in Paris in September 2011. That price included not only the liquor, but also a diamond- and gold-encrusted bottle. The bottle was reportedly given to the great-granddaughter of Leon Croizet, the firm's founder, as part of her wedding dowry in 1892.
