The 2013 Audi R8 is a car you can stare at for hours together. Once you are done appreciating the exteriors of this car and you find yourself in the driver's seat, is when you get the chance to guage this car's full potential. And you will not be disappointed.
Although the styling changes have been very subtle, one of the most visible changes would be those made to the LED head-lights with Audi’s signature LED daytime running lights placed in the centre. Slight modifications can also be noticed with respect to the grille and the bumper up front. The rear has a larger diffuser and new circular tail-pipes. An ultra-lightweight aluminium frame along with the glass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP) chassis, helps lower the weight and improve overall performance.
Technologically speaking, the one feature that has everyone anxious to push the pedal to the metal in this machine, would be the new seven-speed S-tronic transmission. Using two multi-plate clutches this upgrade will be standard in all the variants of the 2013 model and will make every gearshift a smoother one. Another novelty is the R8 V10 Plus model. With a 550 horsepower engine, this beast accelerates from 0-100kmph in a mere 3.5 seconds. Undoubtedly, the V10 Plus is parked at the top of the food chain.
The 2013 Audi R8 range will be made available to European customers by the end of the year. Featuring quilted upholstery on the seats and the doors and full-leather equipment to go with the swanky interiors, the German car manufacturer's flagship two-seater sports car is definitely a treat to the senses. With the option of the 2013 R8 Coupé, the convertable Spyder and the R8 V10 Plus, Audi surely gives you more than one way to experience one of the most primal exhilerations of all - Speed.
