The Other Side of the Taj Mahal
Art inspires more art. Many modern artists recreate classic pieces of art with their own individual twist. Studio Job has recently joined the club with its latest creation of a Taj Mahal table that places the monument upside down. That indeed is quite a twisted thought! Shah Jahan's symbol of love has always been a source of inspiration for many artists because of its royal architecture and elegant artwork. Most of the designs and intricate details of the monument have been retained with the only difference being the use of material.
The much talked about marble has been cleverly replaced with bronze. What stands out is its gold polished dome. If turned around it looks like a miniature of the mausoleum. The beauty of this table lies in its ability to balance on four pillars and the tip of the dome. The table was unveiled at the Art Basel Miami 2012 and has just eight pieces of its kind; each priced at $45,455.
