Jaeger-LeCoultre's Duomètre Unique Travel Time Watch
The Duomètre Unique Travel Time watch
When Jaeger-LeCoultre launched the Duomètre collection featuring the revolutionary Dual-Wing movement, its unique technical nature and sophisticated styling placed it in the most exclusive echelons of fine watchmaking. The brand has now launched a worthy heir to the line with the new Duomètre Unique Travel Time watch.
Crafted in 18-carat white gold, the watch has been specially created for the inauguration of the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Parisian boutique at No. 7, Place Vendôme. For the first time ever on a worldtime watch, this model allows the user to adjust the time in the travel time zone to the nearest minute. In this way, the worldtime function enables travellers to adjust their time-zone display to all continents and countries, irrespective of the time-zone difference.
For this new movement, the Dual-Wing is divided into two mechanisms: the first is dedicated to local time while the second displays an additional time zone. Each mechanism has 50 hours of power reserve but the same crown can be used to wind both barrels. In order to make it easy to read, the day and night indicator and hour disc are positioned at 6 o'clock while two symmetrically arranged counters give this watch perfect balance. The numbers 7 and 9 are specially applied in red on the dial to pay tribute to the new boutique.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 383 is also intricately revealed through the watch's sapphire crystal, while the back bears the engraved cities' names corresponding to 24 time zones. With its bridges, gear trains and moving parts all hand-chamfered and adorned with polished sinks, the past, present and future all come together in perfect harmony as the decorative touches are inspired by the grand tradition of the brand's pocket-watches, and at the same time set new standards with its unique finishing. There are only 100 pieces of this watch available.
