Zac Posen’s 24K Gold Couture for Magnum
Zac Posen works on the 24-karat gold dress
Well, this isn’t the first 24-karat gold dress the world has seen, but Zac Posen’s label sure takes it from dress to couture in more ways than one.
A very feminine silhouette (think mermaid cut train, sweetheart, thin-strap neckline), doused by more than 10,000 hand-embroidered 24K gold sequins, to create what the designer describes as a melting gold ice cream mirage.
Almost perfectly in sync with Magnum’s Gold ice cream bar, the dress will be unveiled at the Tribeca film festival, as part of Magnum’s short promotional film starring Joe Manganiello.
Magnum's Gold Ice Cream Bar
The bar finds itself a vanilla bean base with a twist of sea salt caramel, and some golden milk Belgium chocolate coating for a glamorous Midas touch.
And while you can feast on the ice cream on a hot sunny day, whether the dress is for sale is still unknown. Either way, the $1.5million price tag would scare off most… or do we hear a Saudi princess writing a cheque already?
