They rarely put up fashion shows, but when Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla do, it's always in opulent style.
The Indian couturiers will be presenting their The Golden Peacock line - a collection of 50 limited edition pieces, or heirlooms as the designers describe them - at The Taj Mahal Hotel on Monday in aid of the Sahachari Foundation. The show will be followed by an auction to raise money for St Jude's India Childcare Centre.
Both Jani and Khosla have professed a deep commitment to giving back, "And this is for children suffering from cancer," he says adding, "The intention is great… the Sahachari Foundation has done good work over the years."

Describing the collection as a years-long labour of love, Sandeep Khosla says, "The Golden Peacock collection has been inspired by the peacock, which an emblem of immortality. We've been working on it for the last three years and will showcase it at the [Sahachari Foundation] exhibition. It's a collection of luxurious, beautiful one-off pieces."
So while the Peacock takes centre stage at the show, we will see outfits with their signature chikan-work, 'modern' mirror-work, art deco-inspired geometric shapes as well as influences from their vintage Dhaka collection.
And what makes the Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla label so everlasting? "Quality, originality and classicism," says Khosla, who mentions recently meeting a client who was wearing a piece bought 20 years ago from their couture collection. "That was a great compliment to us."
Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla will be presenting their Golden Peacock collection in association with the Sahachari Foundation at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Mumbai on October 7, 2013.
