The uber classy and sassy red has been redefined by the joint efforts of Virgin Atlantic and bareMinerals who are introducing a lipstick – ‘Upper Class Red’. If you’re wondering how Virgin Atlantic came up with this unconventional idea then it is to mark the launch of their revamped Upper Class cabin. As of now they are exclusive and will be sold only at the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse Spa at Heathrow, Gatwick and New York JFK. You don’t need to get disheartened, later in this
year it will be made available at several bareMineral stockists too. You could also book yourself for this service through the in-flight shopping manual. Now that’s a smart trick, isn’t it?
Rebecca Creer, Senior Spas and Grooming Manager at Virgin Atlantic, says, “Red hot lips have always been a trademark of our cabin crew, signifying the strength and confidence they embody. With the launch of ‘Upper Class Red’, this is finally being made available to passengers - meaning one swipe is all you need to create a classic and timeless look – something our cabin crew can certainly vouch for!”
You need to learn some publicity stunts from this collaboration. The cabin crew, women of course, will flaunt this sparkling shade during the debut of this special cabin. The flight that will take passengers from London to New York will also gift a sample of this lip colour to all those flying with a hot ticket. A brand new A330 will also be flying from London to Delhi starting July 9th 2012.
Sarah-Jane Froom, European Makeup Artist at bareMinerals, opined, “We predict that bareMinerals Pretty Amazing™ Lipcolor in ‘Upper Class Red’, is set to be a popular choice as it’s got the coverage of a lipstick but the high shine effects of a gloss to deliver a full-bodied, velveteen colour – a red shade that suits every skin tone. It’s also been created with frequent fliers in mind as it includes micronized freshwater pearl powder which hydrates the lips alleviating the effects of cabin air pressure. Plus the comfortable and long wearing finish makes glamour last that much longer, perfect for long-haul flights.”
