The most eligible bachelor royal in India, Udaipur’s Lakshyaraj Singh, was officially betrothed to the beautiful Nivritti Kumari Singh Deo on May 13 at a private function in Mumbai.

Apparently the two first met at a private function in New Delhi some time back. Their families were, of course, more than happy to bless their relationship. While we’re expecting a formal ring ceremony at Udaipur’s City Palace soon enough, the marriage is likely to take place only later this year. Nivritti, who is the only daughter of Bolangir royals Kanak Vardhan and Sangeeta Singh Deo, is expected to smoothly fit into Lakshyaraj’s family business as she’s keenly interested in the hotel industry. She has even interned with the Taj group in London after completing her degree in Hospitality Management from the prestigious Glion Institute in Switzerland.

While the family is tightlipped on the details, it seems preparations have already begun for the many functions that will mark the union. Artists and artisans from Udaipur are being dispatched to Orissa to construct resorts to house the guests. Rajasthani chefs are rumoured to follow closer to the wedding. Here’s wishing the couple all the very best.
