Special Delivery: Lakshmi Mittal Ships Kolkata's Best Mithais to London

As gourmands and connoisseurs of Kolkata's famed mithais will tell you, winter is the time to indulge in the softest sandesh made with the seasonal gur or jaggery. And among the many that get nostalgic about the divine delicacy is Lakshmi Mittal.

Kolkata is abuzz with reports that Mittal's palatial home at 18-19 Kensington Palace Gardens has been sent three consignments of the finest mishti made with the very first and premium quality seasonal jaggery prepared by sweetmakers of repute Balaram Mullick and Radharaman Mullick.

Some 120kg of makha sandesh, packed in courrugated paper cartons were delivered on the special request of Mittal's wife Usha, who we believe, had called up the Mullicks for the special order. We believe she wanted to savour the flavour of the city where she met and married the steel magnate.
