There are beers, and then there are record breaking beers… but what interests us of course are record breaking beers that set a new benchmark for luxury.
No it’s not just that the Samuel Adams has pulled of a pricey one for the brand’s 10th anniversary, but that this ultra-strong Utopias beer is well worth its unique blend of the old and new, and is nothing like you’ve tasted before—we definitely mean that in a good way.
At $190 for a 24 ounce bottle, this special beer figures in the World Record Academy as the most expensive commercial beer available.
While 27 percent of alcohol is a reasonable kick, it is the concoction of dark malts, German hops, and 20 year-aged batches of Sam Adams Triple Bock that make this beer ultra song, yet super smooth.
Bourbon, port casks and wooden barrels lend the beer mild undertones of vanilla, maple, ginger, and cinnamon, and all the goodness is bottled in elegant containers that resemble a brewery's copper kettle.
If this sounds like the kind of drink you’d kick back with, your chances to score one are limited to 20,000—yes, it is expectedly a limited edition.
