Mukesh Ambani & Prince of Wales Join Forces for Charity

Five years ago, Prince Charles had invited some of the biggest tycoons of India to a series of working lunches and formal dinners at the Kensington Palace to convince them about lending some financial muscle to a charity he was personally spearheading.

Among those who got the royal invitation were Lakshmi Mittal, Ratan Tata, KP Singh and Mukesh Ambani. While several British Asian business leaders did sign up, the response from Indian industrialists wasn’t quite what the British royal had been hoping for.

Since then, we hear that a lot of good work has been done by the trust, especially in rural India — and now the tide is beginning to turn. On Monday, Prince of Wales was playing gracious host when Mukesh and Nita Ambani arrived as his special guests at the historic Windsor Castle in Berkshire.

The big announcement made by the Prince was that Mukesh had agreed to collaborate with his trust for its activities in India. Moral of the story? Walk your talk, and you’ll end up getting a ride.
