Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee showcased his collection inspired by modern Indian art against the backdrop of the museum. While the models walked the ramp, Shubha Mudgal performed a few ragas. But the highlight of the evening was the attendance of India's modern artists Akbar Padamsee, Jogen Chowdhury, Krishen Khanna, Prafulla Dahanukar, Suhas Roy, Thota Vaikuntam, who were being honoured. Actor Vidya Balan, flanked by industrialist Harsh Goenka and art patron Sangita Jindal, placed a shawl on each of them who were thoroughly moved and spoke fondly of their association with Jehangir.

An emotional Khanna said after the show, "I'm so glad that I am around to see this gallery complete 60 years, and I miss my friends Gaitonde and Husain dearly today. I wish they were with us to share this moment." While Khanna's words moved us, it was fun to see Vaikuntam busy getting his son to take pictures of him along with Balan. Given that his favourite subject is sensuous voluptuous women, we weren't surprised to see him take a fancy to Balan.
