Jeh Wadia's Pet Luxe Project

We sense some serious competition on the horizon early next year, when Jeh Wadia unleashes his pet project on the city's swish set - a retail destination dedicated only to luxury brands. We got a sneak peek of master plan of the shopping destination which will come up at the Bombay Dyeing Mill compound, next to the popular restaurants.

And we can tell you, Jeh seems to have got pretty ambitious while conceptualising it. Rather than the usual glass and chrome tower, the Wadia scion has opted for a squat open structure with ample space for gourmet restaurants, bar, cafes, breezy walkways for window shopping and a sprawling courtyard.

We have also learnt that landscaping for the project is being handled by the same company that won the bid for London Olympics and more recently, the 2016 Rio Olympics. At least half a dozen luxury brands have been signed on already, and this diarist has been assured of some big announcements on the anvil. Did someone say recession?
