Gayatri Ruia Hosts Party for Mumbai's Socialites

Last weekend, Gayatri Ruia hosted the first bash at her Kurla shopping destination with a few of her brave south Mumbai friends trekking all the way to the suburbs and a smattering of Bollywood, including Shruti Hassan. And among the many questions that this we had for the entrepreneur was the fate of the bookstore at the Lower Parel complex, which never managed to reopen ever since it shut down for repairs.

The store, the largest of its kind in the city, was around for a few months, before seepage problems were traced to some foundation problems of the high-end shopping mall. Well, the good news is, the bookstore is reportedly set to reopen, albeit in a new avatar. And if Ruia is to be believed, it will also have a tea-coffee corner among other new elements. We just hope it is worth the wait.
