Deepak Parekh's High-Power Christmas Brunch

There are parties and then there are parties. Vintage SoBo turned up in the finest frocks and suits for banking Guru Deepak Parekh's annual Christmas brunch. Hosted at The Taj this year, the first floor, including the Sea Lounge where desserts were served, was shimmering with the stars of corporate Mumbai.

And that included Mukesh and Nita Ambani, Adi and Jamshed Godrej, Anand Mahindra, Vijay Mallya, Naresh Goyal, Geeta Piramal, the ever-punctual Parsi bunch led by Hafeez Contractor and other party regulars such as Chhaya Momaya.

The menu was expansive - pumpkin soup, coconut rice and turkey ham included - and the conversation sparkled with witty repartees and festive footnotes. And in true Parekh-style, guests went back with gifts. While last year it was tender neem saplings, this year, it was exquisitely handcrafted notebooks.
