Damien Hirst is Coming to Mumbai

A cult name in contemporary art, British artist Damien Hirst has a date with Mumbai at the end of this month. Although he won't be here in person, limited edition diamond dust prints of his notorious platinum and diamond skull titled, For the Love of God will be up for sale at The India Art Festival, MMRDA Grounds in Bandra.
We wonder how the city will receive the silk screen prints that were a hit with the art cognoscenti set at Delhi's India Art Fair earlier this year. The artist has grabbed eyeballs since his work was brought to India a few years ago by Sotheby's, and the publicity his eccentric installations (think carcasses of animals preserved in formaldehyde) attracted.
The fest will showcase the work of several galleries and artists including Anita Klein, Chung Shek and Paul Wright. But it's the participation of Pune-based online gallery Art Concoction's that we are looking forward to.
