The grand old man of the construction business in India, DLF group's Kushal Pal Singh, turned 80 on August 15 this year, but he's gotten down to celebrating the milestone only now. He kick started the celebrations with a mega three-day bash that fittingly started in Gurgaon - a city he more or less singlehandedly put on the realty map.
It was followed up by a public function in Delhi and tonight the grand finale unfolds in Udaipur with Shakira performing live for him at the Jagmandir Palace on Lake Pichola. If that wasn't dazzling enough, U2 front man Bono, his wife Ali Hewson, Ricky Martin and David Beckham - to name just a few international stars - will be in the audience. It's no wonder then that the usually reclusive Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadera have also agreed to be part of the big night.
We hear 30 charter planes have been pressed into service to ferry the guests to Udaipur from across India and the world. While it is still not confirmed whether all the invitees from Bollywood - such as Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan - will be present, at least Shahid Kapoor is sure to make it, given that he's also slated to perform.
But not to be outdone by his own guests, we hear KP will be starring in a special short film specially prepared for the evening which will trace his meteoric rise - from a rebellious young man armed with just a degree in science from Meerut University to becoming the biggest real estate developer in India.
