What’s On at Osian

This is one of those rare occasions when Tipu Sultan, Mahatma Gandhi and Henry Singleton are present under one roof. Osian's Creative India Series 4 auction will showcase various stills from Tipu Sultan’s illustrious life, created by famous British documentary artist Henry Singleton.

An auction hightlight is the The Assault and the Taking of Seringapatnam, which depicts the iconic battle at Seringapatnam fort, fought between Tipu Sultan's forces and the British army, which resulted in Tipu's death. The painting captures the grim essence of battle and power struggle beautifully. Singleton (1766-1839) was famous for his interpretations of the Bible, Shakespeare as well as historical events.
