Inside China's Aircraft Carrier Luxury Hotel
At one time, it might have been expected to go to war. After all, the Kiev was part of the former Soviet Union's fleet of aircraft carriers.
But today, the carrier, which was retired in 1996 and sold to a private Chinese company, has become China's first aircraft carrier hotel. And it's a luxury hotel at that. The Kiev has undergone a £9.6 million refit and includes five presidential suites, each as appealing as the next.
For the interiors, the designers have done away with standard naval décor and gone for the kind of luxurious interiors football WAGs would love. One room consists of a large white circular bed, silver lamé drapes and a cowskin rug. Another has silver poufs and leather-tiled flooring. A third room comes with gold-and-silver furnishing and a giant mirror on the ceiling. So kinky!
