Seems like Florence is all out to take a stand in luxury experiences as the world's finest. This city in the Italian region of Tuscany recently made news when the Four Seasons hotel introduced its gold facial, which promises instant anti-ageing effects.
And now the St Regis hotel in Florence which features 81 luxurious guest rooms and 19 suites, also boasts a designer suite by Bottega Veneta. Each room and suite is designed individually and features hand carved gold leaf plaques in one of three different colour palettes - Medici, Florentine and Renaissance. It also comes with a unique selection of custom designed furniture, paintings, frescos and crystal chandeliers.
But if you're too cool for an average room as these, you could try the Bottega Veneta suite. Serene and sophisticated with muted neutrals, it is furnished with the brand's furniture collection.
Florence has also started featuring on several destination wedding lists. Here you can choose to have a traditional ceremony in a 15th century palace or have a church wedding. You could also rent out a villa for your wedding and customise it, like billionaire industrialist Sajjan Jindal's daughter did.
Tour a Stylish Museum
Blending fashion and antiques together, Gucci recently opened its first museum to mark its 90th anniversary. Called the Gucci Museo, the three storey museum is located inside the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia located in Florence's Piazza Signoria.
From beauty treatments to haute living, Florence almost seems like an over-the-top luxurious vacation packed within its borders.
