Hakkasan, which has just turned 1, has launched a weekend set lunch menu that has all its best dishes put together in a concise form. The special set menu has a range of dim sums, entrées and desserts... all unlimited!
They have a pretty nice mix of dim sums. We'd recommend the Edamame dumplings, which are made up of edamame beans and finished with truffle oil that automatically adds that extravagance to this dish. Or you can try the Har Gau, a steamed dumpling made with a prawn filling.
Diners who love spice should go for the Shanghai dumplings which are pan seared, after going through an initial stage of steaming. The filling includes prawn, chicken and Chinese chives.
Tofu and french beans, raddish puff
Of the vegetarian dishes, the Shimeji mushroom and snow peas dumpling deserves a try. But they also have radish and sesame puffs as well as Chive dumplings that are a mouthful of carrot, celery, pomegranate and lotus root and have a good crunch.
On the Main Course Menu
Moving on to main course they've included SanPei chicken claypot, which is a flavourful concoction of sweet and spicy and the Thai chicken, which is simply a batter-fried chicken served with a light salad made with green mango, onion and Thai red chilly.
Thai-style crispy chicken
Then there is steamed Rawas (Indian salmon) with homemade chilli sauce. There is also a Four Style Vegetable stir fry in Szechuan sauce that includes a good mix of asparagus, Morinu tofu, Shimeji mushroom and yam bean all brought together with a slight sweet flavour sauce.
Wash it all down with their yum cocktails - we had the slightly too strong Hakkatini and the awesome Polmos Cooler.
