Here’s an update on the Christie’s auction we had sounded you about.
At a whopping $962,500, VS Gaitonde’s untitled oil-on-canvas painting was unarguably among the top lot of the South Asian Modern and Contemporary art selections, a collection that collectively fetched a staggering $7,670,750 million.
Another impressive feat was when a blue and white porcelain dragon jar, tracing back to the Joseon dynasty sold at $3,218,500. It is believed that this 18th century marvel kick started a dynamic series of sales.
JustLuxe reports that a Tibetan painting set a world record with its selling price of $1,762,500, creating a new benchmark in the history of art auctions.
