Australia's Largest Pink Diamond on display in Melbourne Museum
Australia's largest pink diamond ever found, the 'Argyle Pink Jubilee' on display in the Melbourne Museum. The diamond was found at a Rio Tinto mine in the East Kimberly region. The museum gets more visitors than any other in the southern hemisphere, making it the perfect home for the gem, says Rio Tinto's David Peever.
Peever says, "It is very fitting that this very rare diamond should be on display here." The diamond wasn't sold, because it could only be partially cut and polished.
