The Great Gatsby remake that director Baz Luhrmann is working on is calendared to release in July of 2013. But the good news is that designer Miuccia Prada, chief of Prada and Miu Miu fashion houses, will be designing outfits for the cast.
Previously Miuccia worked with Baz Luhrmann on his 1996 adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, where she designed the suit Leonardo Di Caprio's Romeo wore to the wedding ceremony. She has also designed for the series of short films that were shown at 'Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations' exhibition.
This will be the third time Baz and Miuccia will be working together. Miuccia has picked 40 dresses from her previous collections and will alter them to fit the 1920s-inspired fashion theme for the movie. So Carey Mulligan's character Daisy Buchanan will be wearing Prada gowns, and she will team them up with jewels from Tiffany & Co. And that's why it is definitely worth the wait!
