Gucci's New Bamboo bags
Gucci is one of the handful of luxury brands that have created India-specific special editions. The idea is to tap into a market full of local idiosyncrasies and a unique style of dressing and woo the younger buyer.
So, in continuing with its tradition of sorts, Gucci has, for the third year running, released bags that are exclusive only to India.
This year, Gucci has released two lines of 'India Exclusive' bags: the range from the Emily collection and 'One of a Kind' New Bamboo bags.
Gucci's Emily bags
The Emily bags will come in three sizes: a cocktail version in champagne, a roomier version - in beige leather perforated with a gold diamante pattern - that will perfectly double up as a day and cocktail bag, plus a tote in wheat ostrich. The bags are characteried by chain straps and a horsebit detail on the front flap. Each bag features an 'India Exclusive' metal plaque on the inside.
The New Bamboo bags feature embossed 'India Exclusive' tag on the mirror case and come in three leathers including Gold Crocodile, a gold perforated diamante pattern on black leather and pastel pink. The five New Bamboo are a version of the iconic bag created in 1947 and come with bamboo fringed tassels and a bamboo closure.
This new limited edition collection will be available in Mumbai and New Delhi from September 2012.
