Singapore Gets Louis Vuitton's First Island Mall

Singapore, a major shopping destination will now be home to the first Louis Vuitton Island Maison, at the Marina Bay Sands. Louis Vuitton, which already has four stores in the island city, plans to open this glass and steel stand-alone store featuring marine-inspired interiors designed by award winning architect, Peter Marino.

The ground floor of the Island Maison will be dedicated to a selection of men and women's leather goods, shoes and accessories.

The mezzanine level will stack up travel luggage and accessories in the first (LV claim) Travel Room in the Asia Pacific region. And it gets better - there's a private lounge for one-on-one presentations too.

Tourists can tour through a tunnel which will showcase pieces of contemporary artwork. The tunnel connects to the Marina Bay Sands mall and ends at the Louis Vuitton bookstore, which houses a range of design, cultural and art books. A spiral staircase on the same floor leads up to a display of timepieces, jewellery and some exceptional leather bags.

The fifth Louis Vuitton store in Singapore, it is scheduled to open on September 18, 2011.
