Platform Shoes Kill Manolo's Mojo
Manolo Blahnik does not like platform shoes. "In fact, I'm very happy that this period of furniture shoes… those awful platforms that people are wearing is over - or getting there," says the shoe czar in an outtake of the shoe doc, God Save My Shoes.
The minute-long clip, called The Manolo Mojo, also gives us a glimpse into the Spanish designer's New York studio; his take on why women love shoes and why Blahnik himself loves heels.
The Manolo Blahnik clip forms Episode 8 in the God Save My Shoes documentary, which aims to explore the "intimate relationship" women have with their shoes. A whole bunch of shoe designers and celebs, including Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, The Black Eyed Peas' Fergie and Dita von Teese talk about the psychological, socio-cultural and erotic appeal of the shoe.
