So the Obamas hosted a decidedly more subtle state dinner for German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House recently. And First Lady Michelle Obama, who has firmly established herself as a fashion icon, chose a shimmery ivory sleeveless gown by Naeem Khan.
Apparently he is one of her favourite designers, and we see the loyalty. Khan is an Indian-born, American fashion designer, and his gowns are usually priced somewhere between $5,000-$15,000 (approx Rs 22,000 - Rs 67,000). Mrs Obama accessorised her outfit with a few gold bangles by Alexis Bittar, which cost $145-$695 each.
