Inside Tarun Tahiliani's Bridal Jewel Box

Tarun Tahiliani is back with his annual bridal expo, called the Couture Exposition, just in time for the wedding season.

Every year, the couture designer puts together a theme-based exhibition - this year, it's the Jewel Box - that gives brides, grooms and their families a look at his Swarovski Elements-studded bridal collection. In a collection note for designs at this year's couture expo, Tahiliani waxes lyrical about 'the blush of a bride as an emotion coupled with our incredible tradition of embellishment as the highest offering…'

So expect his trademark lehengas, there are 35 on display this year, to be designed with 'contemporary sensibilities' in jewel tones this year.

Usually, Tahiliani's designs are accessories with jewellery from top brand, but we can also expect other wedding paraphernalia this season.

Inside the Box

Last year, Tahiliani focused on the artisanal, the idea was to bring the craft to the fore; in 2012 he's joined collaborated with Asahi India Glass to reinterpret the jewelry box to showcase his collection.

The bling will come from Forevermark Diamonds and JH Jewellers' displays; they're to showcase diamond, ruby, emerald and polka collections. And Tahiliani's collaborative efforts with Johnnie Walker mean the brand will showcase Gold Label giftpacks - a perfect gift for a father-in-law?

The Tarun Tahiliani Couture Expo is on from July 25 - 28, 2012 at DLF Emporio, in New Delhi and from August 6 - 7, 2012 at Mehboob Studio in Mumbai.
