Hermes to Hike Retail Price by 9 Per Cent

If you thought French fashion house Hermes already has steep prices, they’re about to change that now. To something steeper. Siting the rise in prices of raw materials particularly for silk, cashmere and crocodile skin, there will be a hike of about 9 per cent in the current retail price.
This will affect it products from leather bags, accessories, scarves, to shoes too. So basically, if you currently would pay $4,050 for a bag, add $364 and that’s what you’ll soon be paying. We don’t think the price hike is going affect sales in anyway. Remember when Hermes couldn’t meet the demand for it’s bags and scarves. However, the price hikes have already kick-started in Europe and parts of Asia, and will gradually move to the Americas, by the end of January 2012.
In other news we hear that Audi is contemplating a 2 per cent price hike this year too.
