Gucci is doing its bit for charity. The luxury brand has introduced an exclusive line of t-shirts and accessories, designed by creative director Frida Giannini, to benefit UNICEF. This collection has been specifically launched to celebrate the launch of UNICEF's 'Schools for Asia' initiative, an educational drive launched to provide access to quality basic education for disadvantaged children across Asia and the Pacific.
Apart from this, Gucci will also make an inaugural donation of $350,000 in the name of Gucci Children's Collection to support UNICEF's education programmes in Yunnan and Chongqing in China. And 25 per cent of the retail price of each GG Flag Collection item sold will be donated to the 'Schools for Africa' and 'Schools for Asia' education initiatives.
The GG Flag Collection
Now that we know what led to the creation of the collection, here's a bit about it. The GG Flag Collection includes everything from tees to handbags and zip-around wallets - all featuring the interlocking GG logo, with the colours of different national flags from around the world.
The light grey cotton jersey t-shirts all sport the GG print with the colours countries including Italy, France, UK, Germany and Russia. The special edition GG handbags come with calfskin top handles and trim.
