As if to test the waters in India, diamond brand Forevermark made an appearance at Tarun Tahiliani's bridal expo and Couture Week last year. At the latter Rani Mukherji walked the ramp wearing a stunning haathphool that comes with a detachable 7.3 carat diamond ring.

And now, Forevermark has finally, officially, arrived in India. The diamond brand, part of the De Beers Group launched in Bangalore last weekend in partnership with jewellers like Abaran, C Krishniah Chetty & Sons and Joyalluka's.

Talking about Forevermark's India launch, CEO Stephen Lussier told the Deccan Herald that India was the world's fifth largest diamond market. "According to estimates, retail diamond sales in India have grown at the rate of 25 per cent each year in the last three years," he said adding," Forevermark will offer today's Indian diamond purchasers, quality and integrity."

To that end, Forevermark diamonds come with unique inscriptions as well as personalised identification cards.

The brand plans to expand to other key cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Hyderabad in the next few months.
