Elvis Presley's Iconic Sunglasses Fetch Rs 12 Lakh

A pair of sunglasses, called Tiger Man, worn by King of Rock 'n' Roll, Elvis Presley, sold for a cool $22,000 (approx Rs 12.2 lakh) at Dallas-based Heritage Auctions.
Elvis was spotted wearing the pair during three shows in 1974; he wore the Tiger Man sunglasses at his performances at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Indianapolis and Dayton, Ohio.
Sold in Auction
The $22,000 final price for the sunglasses exceeded the estimate of $16,000. The pair was sold with certificates of authenticity from Artie Dadyan, owner of Designbyartie. Artie was a designer and jeweller at the late Dennis Roberts' Optique Boutique.
Dennis used to repair or replace sunglasses for Elvis, and this pair was left in the repair box.
There were a few other things that were on auction too. Presley's Love Me Tender standee sold for $20,000 (approx Rs 11 lakh). A library card signed by Elvis, believed to be one of the earliest signatures by the singer sold for $7,500 (approx Rs 4 lakh).
