$1.3 Million Diamond Ring Sets World Record
An 18k white gold ring called the Tsarevna Swan has set the world record for having the most cut-diamonds. Making it into the Guinness Book of World Records, it is set with 2,525 diamonds, to be precise.
Priced at $1.3 million, the tall 18k white gold ring was created by the Lobortas Classic Jewelry House of Kiev, Ukraine. It was presented and measured on July 21, 2011.
All of the diamonds are of G colour and range from VVS2 to VS1 in clarity. They span from 0.001-0.05 carats with a total weight of 10.48 carats. Apparently the design and development of the ring took about 530 hours, while the fabrication took another 3,625 hours. The ring is currently being showcased in Kiev.
India has always been one of the frontrunners in the polished diamond export industry, and this time it has made a contribution that will go down in history. The diamonds for the Tsarevna Swan ring were supplied by Shrenuj & Co Ltd, a diamond and diamond jewellery manufacturer based in Mumbai.
