Volkswagen Launches the iBeetle with Apple
Volkswagen's iBeetle debuts at the Auto Shanghai 2013
All set to replace your in-car entertainment system is the Volkswagen iBeetle, with a docking station for one of the most widely sold phones in the market today—the iPhone.
Bringing together big names like Apple and Volkswagen, Auto Shanghai 2013 takes great pride in presenting the car of the future, which will be officially released in 2014, but is available for booking come October this year.
Combining world-class technologies, the company has managed to sync the iPhone with an integrated Beetle application, to provide the driver an experience like never before.
From expected features like easy calls, texts, emails, music and navigation, to more advanced operations like using the ‘Expert’ icon to turn your instrument into a super cool g-force reading, temperature calculating panel, this one’s sure to kick you in adrenaline overdrive.
Fans of ‘Spotify’ are in for a treat as the app can be accessed and shared with friends—all handsfree.
Other noteworthy functions are the ‘Trainer’ mode that tracks your routes, average journey time and fuel economy, and the ‘Postcard’ feature which allows you to share your location with your peeps in real time, with an attachment snapshot of you in the driver’s seat of course.
And though we’re guessing that we’ve still probably only scratched the surface, one thing’s for sure, this release is going to be worth the wait.
What’s more, the Volkswagen iBeetle is available in variants of both coupe and convertible, in black, white and silver colour alternates.
