Look Inside the 30th Anniversary Edition of the BMW M5
The “30 Jahre M5” (30 years of the M5) is not just the most powerful M5, but also the most powerful BMW in the history of the brand, period.
What separates the car from its stable-mates is the 4.4-litre V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology whose output of 441 kW/600 hp exceeds that of the standard model by 29 kW/40 hp. This results in the BMW M5 30th anniversary edition pushing from 0-100 km/h in an unprecedented 3.9 seconds only.
All part of the Competition Package (the standard specs on this model), the 30 Jahre M5 has a revised chassis set-up with firmer spring/damper tuning and a 10 mm drop in ride height. Sportier handling and better traction make this a performance sedan that’s one to beat in its segment.
The BMW 30 Jahre M5 Vision
Features unique to the appearance of this limited edition run are its individual Frozen Dark Silver metallic paint job, complemented by black chrome across the kidney grille surround, gills with “30 Jahre M5” badge on the front wing, door handle inserts and twin exhaust tailpipes. The car stands firm on 20-inch bi-colour M light-alloy wheels that vibe with the luxuries of the drive.
In the cabin you will be greeted by “30 Jahre M5” lettering on the front door sill finishers, the front passenger side of the cabin, and the backrests of all four of the sedan’s seats.
With Alcantara and leather alternates right through the interiors, the M sports steering wheel and a high-end surround system that uses 16 speakers (you can choose between a Harman Kardon unit with output of 600 watts and a 1,200-watt Bang & Olufsen), the BMW M5 30th anniversary car is the hottest collector’s edition, right next to the Ford Mustang 50 Years.
Only 300 units of the 30 Jahre M5 are being released worldwide, all of which will be a numbered roll-out.
