Well, it would only make sense to explore all possible avenues when discussing your bestseller. Topping the charts for Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India, is the Freelander 2 (SUV) and of course, the very popular Jaguar XF (sedan).
While the SUV’s already established based in JLR’s Pune plant, the company is hoping to replicate their success by applying the same strategy to their sedan.
As the Freelander 2 and the Jaguar XF both use the 2.2 litre, four-cylinder diesel engine internationally, the transition to local production should be a rather simple proposition. This will be in addition to the already existing variants—the 3 litre V6 diesel and the 5 litre supercharged V8 petrol.
With 187bhp power producing 450 Nm of torque, this sports car has ample to offer in terms of performance and luxury. The car boasts of premium features like a rear electric sunblind, electric sunroof, a touch screen entertainment system on the dash board, a TV tuner, and a rear-view camera too.
The XF 2.2 diesel will be priced approximately at Rs 44.5 lakh + taxes, as applicable to city.
