Hottest Makeup Colours for the Party Season
Metallic shades are in this autumn-winter, according to celebrity make up artist, Kapil Bhalla. So include shades like gold, copper, rust, bronze in your palette this season. Be bold and try out gold lip colour by MAC or a shade of rust by Estee Lauder from their No Expiration collection.
“Shades of fuchsia and red are still hot for lips,” says renown make up artist Clint Fernandes. Opt for shades of red from Lancome’s Ral Ferme collection or choose a bright pink from MAC’s Prolongwear lip crème collection. You prefer glosses? Choose from Keihl’s berry-inspired shades like Golden Berry, Pink Rider and Mahvelous Mauve.
“For eyes, jewel tones like purples, emerald greens, and ruby reds are in,” says Fernandes. Pick shades like candy blue, purple, bright blush pink or a deep blue from MAC’s fall colours collection. You could also invest in Estee Lauder’s holiday collection that has colours like gold, red, coral, mauve and beige in the case.
“The smudged kohl look and the smoky-eyed look are still in,” says Fernandes. You can get yourself the Lancome Les Oeillades Ouvert Quadrant that has shadow in two shades of pink, a dark grey and brown- just what you need for the smoky-eyed look.
Clint Fernandes’ Tips for the Perfect Smudged Kohl Look
- Line the entire eye with kohl and gently smudge the edged with an eyeshadow brush.
- You could also use a contrasting eyeshadow - apply with your finger tips - to highlight smudged kohl on the corners of your eyes.
Tip: Use a beige or a pink eyeshadow for the smudge effect if you plan to wear a bright shade on your lips.
“The colour on your nails can vary depending on your mood or the colour of your garment,” says Fernandes. The hottest colours of the season however are blues, reds, corals, pinks and sea greens. If you are opting for a bolder look, you can opt for a shade of dark grey, icy grey or brown. But if you want to play it safe you can choose a frosty pink.
