Louis Vuitton's Tea Trunks Sell for Millions
Louis Vuitton recently opened its Taipei 101 Maison, on the fourth and fifth floor, in the second tallest building in the world - Taipei 101 skyscraper. To pay respect to unique local Taiwanese culture of tea drinking, LV had three tea trunks specially made. The tea trunks in Epi rainbow colours (red, green, and orange respectively) were created and managed to rake in millions.
Designed by Patrick - Louis Vuitton in Asnieres, Paris, the tea trunks come with a customised Chinese tea set designed by Hsiao Fan Pottery Art. Apparently during its shopping preview, each of the trunks was sold for 1.7 million Taiwan dollars (approx Rs 21 lakh) to VIP clients.
For the opening of the Louis Vuitton Taipei 101 Maison, showcasing its timelessness, an antique tea trunk from the museum archives in Asnieres was also on display.
