From Hermoine to Emma
Fame came to you very quickly, and at a very young age. Has it radically changed your life?
I can't remember very much of my life when I wasn't famous, so it's hard to think about how it's changed it. I haven't really known anything different.
Did you feel instantly at ease in front of the camera?
I started acting when I was nine or ten years old and I think when you are so young, you're almost unaware of the fear. You have the confidence of youth, so you don't think about the nerves too much. I was lucky-it came naturally to me.
As a young woman of 20, how do you manage to strike a balance between your personal and busy professional life?
Most of my schedule is written for me by other people and they don't necessarily write 'time for Emma'. So, I have to remember to make time for me. It very easily gets put to the bottom of the priority list, but it's so important.
What made you decide to accept the offer of becoming a Lancôme ambassadress and to link yourself to a cosmetics brand for the very first time?
I was incredibly flattered to be asked to be the new ambassadress for Lancôme, mainly because I'm so much younger and less well-established than some of the other ambassadresses of the brand. Lancôme represents some really amazing women. Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet and Penélope Cruz are all women that I really admire and look up to. They have so much class and integrity, and they are incredibly successful at what they do. So, to become a part of that family is such a huge compliment. I think Lancôme has a lot of class, style, history and integrity.
What does Lancôme represent to you?
Lancôme, for me, is a brand that is established and trusted. It has a very classic and elegant sort of spirit; but it's also very modern. I think it treads that line very carefully and very well. Lancôme has its name in history, but it has also managed to remain very relevant, current and modern.
What emotions does Lancôme's new fragrance, Trésor Midnight Rose, make you feel?
There's something magical about midnight, and the concept of a flower that blooms at this time of the day really appeals to me. It makes it seem mysterious and precious. With Trésor Midnight Rose it's as if you are spraying yourself with something magical that can transport you in a way and make you feel expectant and hopeful.
Do you find night-time romantic?
Yes, I do find night-time romantic. It's the time of the day when you can light candles and the light seems so warm and soft. Somehow, everything just looks prettier at night.
