During the worldwide launch of Signorina, the new feminine fragrance by Salvatore Ferragamo, Time 'N Style Beauty caught up with Luciano Bertinelli, CEO, Ferragamo Parfums at TFWA Asia Pacific, 2012.

Salvatore Ferragamo recently launched Signorina. Tell us about it.

Signorina is Italian for ‘lady’. The word is very well perceived in Italy. It’s actually reminiscent of the 1960s. It’s a typical Italian word that’s easy to pronounce and remember. The target audience for the fragrance is between 25 to 35 years, so we’ve tried to match the name with the concept. We believe that we’ve developed an amazing bottle. With the iconic Vara bow, it’s indeed very precious. The Vara bow is one of our signature elements which has been featured in Ferragamo fashion from our shoes to bags!

When is the fragrance launching in India?

So far, the fragrance has been very well received. It will be launched in India at the end of July.

What tips would you like to give our readers before they buy a perfume?

Luciano Bertinelli

Well, when buying a perfume, you have to love to live with the fragrance. Also, you should select a perfume keeping in mind what time of the day or season you’re going to use it or whether it will be used for a particular occasion. The perfume should be perceived as part of your body.

What tips would you give a man buying a perfume for his lady?

A man needs to choose the fragrance and not the brand. It should be a fragrance that remains in the mind and the core of the heart. A fragrance is not just a fragrance, but a memento.

It would have to be Ferragamo’s Attimo Pour Homme.
