Devita Saraf

We told you about Tarun Tahiliani's Couture Exposition. And part of this luxurious bridal-wear expo is this interesting tech collaboration, a tailor-made Vu Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV.
This is a first-of-it's kind project for Devita Saraf's company, Vu Technologies. The young entrepreneur, CEO of Vu Technologies, India (she co-found the Pittsburgh-based Vu Telepresence Inc at 24), hopes to redefine the luxury space in India. With that in mind, Devita, who has been featured on '25 Most Powerful Women in India' list by India Today magazine and even has a Zee TV Youngest Achiever Award, decided to explore the technology-in-fashion space. And the idea for the Vu Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV was born.
We got Devita to tell us about this fashionable blend of electronics and couture.
What is a Couture TV?
The Vu Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV with an inbuilt PC is a blend of luxury, beauty, sophistication and uniqueness, perfect for the fashion and technology aficionado.
How did you decide to incorporate high couture with electronics?
When thinking about luxury and lifestyle, fashion is definitely an industry we cannot miss. Being a fashion lover myself and as re-defining luxury is our main aim, we thought roping in a luxury connoisseur would be a perfect match. Known for his fusion of Indian traditional fabrics and international silhouettes, Tarun Tahiliani was the perfect candidate as he appeals to the Indian palette with an international view.
Why did you pick Tarun Tahiliani for this association?
Tarun Tahiliani believes in the same motto as our brand- Vu Technologies, which focuses on innovation, opulence and a strong customer focus. At Vu, we believe in the best and since our customer base is classy and well-travelled thus, the association with Tarun Tahiliani.
Vu Technologies has had a history of ultra luxury products, not to mention design elements like crystals and diamonds? What can we expect from this Vu-Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV?
The Vu-Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV has been designed with unusual ornamental patterns constructed through the use of calligraphy and geometry. The fine use of latticework in muted Swarovski elements lends a very subtle and stylish feel to the product.
What home decor setting would you recommend to place this TV in?
Not just a functional object but also, a piece of art, the Vu - Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV demands a lavish and attractive environment. I can picture the beautiful TV in a glass cupboard as part of an art display or in the middle of a hall, standing there majestically, being the centre of attention. No matter where this unique TV is placed, it will always manage to captivate.
Are you looking at more designer associations anytime soon?
This is the first of its kind association for Vu Technologies within the Television Space in India which is very unique. In case we come across another exciting opportunity, why not?
